except for the album rift which is very good by the way i could never be a huge fan.trey was lucky to be in a band with talent but they just never really grew on me.the lyrics are kind of lame and trey always seemed to try to grab the spotlight imho "look at me i'm a guitar god " which sadly he will never be.never knew why mikey houser of widespread never got his due during that time period such a humble player who had soul when he played the guitar something trey lacks imho.music has to have soul to move me and phish never did that for me,maybe if they had a different guitar player than ernest it would have worked but trey just blows it for me.listen to the solo works from the other members way better material than trey.that's just my .02 cents.

Have to say, the Phil/Trey photo was a hoot. Phish? Can't say I ever really understood them. Earlier posts have summed it up; soulless, pointless noodling, lyrics (tweezer in a freezer, blah, blah, blah)= pointless, but the kids loved 'em. I saw them once or twice to "try to like them", but the first note was hit and everyone was spinning. It always seemed somewhat "forced", like they never built up to that point. People came there to do that, and by God, no matter what came over the PA, they were gonna twirl. Phish never spoke to me.
